  • Registered Physiotherapist, Certified Athletic Therapist

    Passionate about health and sport, Laura earned a Bachelor of Health Science in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College and completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from The University of Toronto. While studying at both Sheridan and U of T, Laura played varsity soccer. She knows all too well what it’s like to be sidelined with injury. Laura’s experience sustaining injuries on the field sparked her interest in injury rehabilitation.

    Throughout her post-secondary education and afterwards, Laura worked with various organizations, including Toronto FC Academy, Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, University of British Columbia varsity football and Sheridan College varsity athletics. She was also part of the medical team at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Vancouver.

    Laura has experience treating people of all abilities, including high-performance athletes. She worked in private practice for several years, focusing primarily on orthopedics. Laura continues her education through various professional courses to further her clinic knowledge and treatment techniques or strategies.

    Laura is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. And as a Certified Athletic Therapist, she is a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association and Ontario Athletic Therapy Association.

    Outside of work Laura enjoys staying active through CrossFit, running, and hiking with her family and dogs. She loves gardening, home DIY projects, travel, and spending time with her husband and little girl.

  • Certified Athletic Therapist

    Julie was born and raised in Cargill. From an early age she became passionate about sports and knew it would be part of her future career.

    Julie has a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor as well as a Bachelor of Health Science in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College. Throughout her schooling she worked alongside Athletic Therapists at St Clair College for 4 years, and completed internships with varsity athletics programs at the University of Toronto Mississauga, St Michael’s College School, and Wilfred Laurier University. She has also had the privilege of working alongside Team Jamaica Women’s U19 Lacrosse team, Team Ontario Lacrosse, and the Mississauga Mountaineers/ Tomahawks Jr B Lacrosse teams.

    After graduation, she returned home to Bruce County and began her career as an Athletic Therapist at The Smart Clinic - Brucelea Haven site.

    In her free time Julie enjoys volunteering in Cargill, four-wheeling, and spending time with her friends and large, extended family.

    She looks forward to expanding Athletic Therapy in the area and is very excited to meet the clients in the clinic and help them work and play pain-free.

    Megan received her Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of Windsor (Movement Science Major with Co-op Distinction) prior to attending Queen’s University where she completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy.

    Megan has vast experience assessing and treating a multitude of orthopaedic injuries/conditions related to overuse, sport and post-surgery. Additionally, she can assess and treat neurological, vestibular and cardiovascular conditions. She strives to work with you towards achieving individual goals through education, exercise and evidence-based practice.

    Growing up in Bruce County has given Megan an appreciation for small-town service, but highlighted the importance of having knowledgeable healthcare support that is easily accessible within our rural communities. In order to provide a variety of treatment options Megan expands her skill set through professional courses/webinars.

    Megan is a member of both the Ontario Physiotherapy Association and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She is a registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

    In her downtime Megan enjoys kayaking down the Saugeen River, playing with her dog and working in the flowerbeds/vegetable gardens.

    Shannon grew up in Bruce County participating in many community and school sports that started her journey to a career based in fitness and activity. This led her to completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph and then her Master of Physical Therapy at Western University. While studying at U of G, Shannon was a member of the international equestrian team, and at both U of G and Western, Shannon enjoyed playing intramural volleyball with fellow classmates.

    Shannon is eager to utilize all the knowledge she has gained to help those in the community develop personalized goals to regain function and return to the activities they love. She has an interest in orthopedic injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. Shannon plans to take further educational courses to improve her skillset in various techniques, having already taken courses in acupuncture, vestibular rehabilitation, and TMJ disorders.

    Shannon is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. She is also a member of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

    In her free time, Shannon enjoys horseback riding, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family pets.

    She looks forward to working with the knowledgeable team at Walkerton Physiotherapy to provide quality care to all those in the community.

    Rebecca completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario her Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario. She has a keen interest in several orthopedic injuries/pathologies including pelvic girdle dysfunction, post-op rehabilitation, and repetitive strain. She is a huge advocate of “exercise is medicine” and holistic care. Rebecca is dedicated to personalized treatment plans including manual therapy, patient-friendly education, home exercise programming and functional task training. Her primary goal is to facilitate patients in obtaining their return to work, sport and life goals.

    Rebecca has completed a specialization in pelvic floor physiotherapy and she has a passion for the remediation of pelvic pain and dysfunction for both men and women.

    Rebecca is also passionate about providing pelvic floor physiotherapy for pregnant and post-partum women seeking assessment, treatment and/or prevention of pelvic floor dysfunction. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to labour and delivery preparation and empowerment for birthing women and their partners.

    Karin is our receptionist and the first person you’ll see when entering the clinic.

    Having worked in the healthcare and service sector for many years, Karen loves helping her community.

    Karin is from the Netherlands and emigrated to Canada in 1990. Karin and her husband enjoy life on their farm southeast of Elmwood. Together they have five children and Laura is one of them!

    When she’s not working, Karin enjoys being outside, puttering in her gardens and going for hikes and walks with the family dog. She loves music and above all, spending time with her family.

    A graduate from the massage therapy program at Medix College, Sabina has been practising for eight years in Walkerton. Clients return to Sabina again and again for her expertise in deep tissue massage, cupping and various other soft tissue release techniques.

  • Certified Pilates + TRX Instructor

    Chelsea is a mumma to three kiddos under five and is passionate about all things health and wellness.

    As an eating disorder warrior, Chelsea once found ways to punish her body through movement and food (or lack thereof), and has committed to continuous work for herself, and her clients, to find joy and privilege in the abilities our bodies have, instead of punishing them for "gains".

    She started her journey in 2009 after graduating as an R.H.N from The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Toronto, Chelsea then studied Health Sciences at Georgian College in Barrie. After that, Chelsea moved to Dubai and completed her M.Sc at Middlesex University in the UK.

    While completing her Masters, Chelsea found a love for Pilates, and in 2018 completed her Certified Pilates Instructor training through Pilates Moves Australia and her Certified TRX Instructor training.

    Having worked at Pilates studies in Dubai, Toronto and Brampton, offering Physio-Pilates, Chelsea has extensive knowledge and experience with pre- and post-natal Pilates, sports injuries, chronic pain and conditions, as well as physical disabilities from youths to seniors.

    Chelsea's goal is to help people find joy in movement, and to support her clients on their health and wellness journey, meeting them where they're at and guiding them to where they want to be.
